Aight — help me out here Mevin…what’s going on in this picture? Weird fungus? Bee was trapped in your girlfriend’s hair?

Clearly, you’re no lepidopterist, my herpetologically-inclined friend, for this is no bee, but a Centucha moth in the Tiger moth clade. As to the stringy stuff, I noticed a whisp of tiny hair on the back of the moth’s thoracic fuzz and decided to add to it, making it meander like child scrawl.
Girlfriend, what girlfriend? And how do you know it’s not a strand from one of my own luxuriant locks?
